Achieving this lofty goal requires overcoming obstacles. As a manufacturing company, to be recognized, a watch company must own at least one mechanical watch movement produced in-house. This is precisely the stumbling block of Chopard, which has not made a little progress even though it has been tried for decades. So, driven by Karl-Frederick Schaefer, Chopard decided to take action from 2020 to expedite the process.

Movement development, finished product design, gold casting work, case stamping and processing, movement components, traditional hand engraving and decoration, surface treatment, polishing, assembly, adjustment and quality control: Chopard Chopard does everything in the watch manufacturing business is entirely in control and is used in the manufacture of every watch in the L.U.C. series.
